Richard Foster
Richard completed 35 years of distinguished service in the Canadian Armed Forces retiring in 2015 as the Deputy Commander Royal Canadian Air Force at the rank of Major-General. He has extensive experience with inter-government, industry and international relationships.
His service career as a Military Pilot included instructing on the Tutor and Hawk Aircraft, four tours of operational flying on the CF-18, command of 433 Tactical Fighter Squadron, and Wing Commander of CFB Moose Jaw.
Other notable positions included Special Advisor to the Vice-Chief of Defence Staff, Deputy Commander at 1 Canadian Air Division in Winnipeg, and Deputy Commander of the Canadian Joint Operations Command.
He graduated from the Royal Military College, Kingston, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is also a graduate of the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College and the National Strategic Programme in Toronto and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Ottawa.
Richard was appointed to a corporate role as Vice President L3 Technologies Canada in 2016.
