Salimah Lalji
Polyglot and a fine strategist, Salimah Lalji has over 19 years of extensive aerospace and international contract negotiation experience. Her aerospace career began at Bombardier, where she spent 14 years negotiating multi-million dollar contracts, related to civil and military programs, with global Government officials.
Ms. Lalji joined CAE in 2018 where she is currently Legal Counsel in Defense & Security international. Salimah serves as a member on CAE’s Professional Women’s Network Steering Committee and CAE’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Steering Committee, where she leads the Global Strategic Sourcing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team to enhance supplier diversity within CAE.
Before starting her career in aerospace, Ms. Lalji was appointed by the Minister of Environment of Quebec as Director of the Minister’s riding office, where she provided strategic counsel to the Minister and served the constituents.
A highly motivated team leader, mentor and collaborator, Ms. Lalji has also volunteered with external organizations such as His Highness the Aga Khan Council for Canada, Conciliation and Arbitration Board for Quebec and the Maritime provinces, and Focus Humanitarian Assistance. In 2020, Ms. Lalji was appointed by the Minister of Education of Quebec to sit on the Board of Directors of Cégep de Saint-Laurent in Montreal, on which she presently serves as Vice-president.
A graduate of McGill University and the University of Ottawa, Ms. Lalji holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Laws degree in Civil Law (LL.L.). She is called to the bar of Quebec.
